The reality of the training process is that it can be a hard with lots of frustrations, but for those surfers that persist, when success becomes more common, those frustrations turn into joy and a sense of achievement. Working on your surfing can be FUN for those who really want to be the best they can be.
Surfers will simply not try to finish their waves because of their learned experience that says – “Don’t even try to finish, you won’t make it”
To rectify these pop-up errors, surfers should work on creating a fast pop-up action. A fast action is one where the surfer jumps to their feet, so that both feet land simultaneously on the surfboard’s stringer – shoulder width apart.
Motivated surfers need to understand that not all online instruction is designed to help them surf better. In many cases it’s all about creating content to just build a larger audience, pure and simple.
surfers should drive "hard and controlled" back towards the foam in flat sections, slow and smooth off the bottom, and then, fast and aggressive off the top.
Making sensible decisions on where a surfer takes-off on their waves will contribute to the ultimate success they achieve. It is highly recommended that surfers should only take-off on the peak or behind the peak, and say “NO” to all other take-off decisions.
As good surfing is all about making good decisions and being confident when in the water, helping young surfers learn to think for themselves by asking question that encourage that process, is a big step forward in the development of any surfer moving forward.
When he came in again I said – “This time push forward to a chest over front knee body position”. When he paddled-out, Bam…..Bam….. Bam….., he finished all his waves perfectly.
